Production Grapes are hand-picked from selected vineyards in the Douro Valley, where old vines grow on steep schist terraces known as patamares . Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures of 30°C, followed by 10–12 days of skin maceration to achieve optimal colour, flavour and tannin structure.
