Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Located in the Macedonia wine region of Greece, Alpha Estate was established in the 1990s by viticultural agronomist Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis. The estate, which initially boasted approximately 7 hectares of vineyards, now extends across 220 hectares spread on the Amyndeon plateau near the winery. Alpha Estate wines are widely acclaimed for their distinctive character and excellent quality. The Malagouzia grapes come from the Turtles vineyard, located at an altitude of 600 to 700 meters in the Florina wine district of Western Macedonia. Here, the vines enjoy a cool, semi-continental climate that favors the development of strong acidity, and are rooted in sandy-clay soils. After manual harvesting and fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is then left to rest on the lees. In the glass, Alpha Estate Malagouzia Turtles Vineyard reveals a brilliant pale yellow color with subtle green highlights. On the nose, it is fresh and fragrant, with intense notes of peach and melon interspersed with floral scents of rose and jasmine, citrus and herbaceous touches. On the palate, it is expressive and generous, with a medium body and a round, smooth texture. It is fresh and balanced with a long, aromatic finish. Try it with Asian fish and seafood recipes.
