Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Founded by Angelos Iatridis and Makis Mavridis, cellar master and vineyard manager respectively, Alpha Estate is one of the most renowned Greek wineries with over 30 years of operation and 220 hectares of vineyards. Over the course of its existence, Alpha Estate quickly gained great popularity and, in 2014, was included in Wine & Spirit Magazine's list of the 100 best wineries in the world. The award-winning Alpha Sauvignon Blanc (gold medal at the 2026 Thessaloniki Wine & Spirits Trophy) is made from grapes grown in the Amyndeon area at over 600 meters above sea level. The cool microclimate of this area (the coldest in the country) favors the production of very fresh wines that release a powerful aromatic punch. After harvesting, the wine is fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel, and the finished wine then ages on the lees for four months. In the glass, the wine reveals intense aromas of citrus mixed with tropical fruit and peach, followed by herbaceous notes typical of the grape variety and wet stone. On the palate, it is expressive and juicy, generous, and well-structured. It is fresh and lively with bright acidity and a long, thirst-quenching finish that reveals a pleasant minerality. Try it with spaghetti with clams, sushi, and gnocchi with pesto.
