Located in Erbusco, Lombardy, the Bellavista winery was founded in 1977 by Vittorio Moretti and is now one of the most prestigious and awarded estates in the Franciacorta wine region. The vineyards extend over approximately 200 hectares, where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir dominate. The Vittorio Moretti Riserva is a blend of the finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes selected from the finest soils, with the best exposures, and the finest harvest fractionations. The grapes come primarily from the Breda, Rocchetta, Pagulle, Favento, Casotte, and Carlino vineyards, where the vines, planted on morainic soils, have an average age of 35 years. After manual harvesting and vinification, the wine ages on the lees for 72 months before disgorgement and dosage. The result is an iconic wine that pays homage to Vittorio Moretti's creativity and his love for the Franciacorta region. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant straw-yellow color enhanced by a lively and fine perlage. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant, with notes of ripe yellow fruit and candied citrus, hints of honey and brioche, and finally touches of aromatic herbs and smokiness. On the palate, it is broad and complex, creamy and elegant. It is rich and smooth with a pleasant, refreshing acidity that lingers on a long finish. It is the ideal wine with raw seafood and shellfish.
