Herdade do Rocim was founded by Pedro Ribeiro and his wife Catarina Vieira in the Vidigueira sub-region of Alentejo, an area long celebrated for its viticultural heritage and unique microclimate. Their philosophy is to produce wines that remain faithful to the historical traditions of Alentejo, while combining authenticity with precision and modern winemaking. The estate is also known for championing amphora (talha) winemaking, preserving one of Portugal’s oldest techniques. Production This cuvée is a blend of Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, and Trincadeira. The grapes are vinified in traditional concrete tanks before being matured for 6 months in French oak barrels. This combination of materials and techniques balances freshness with subtle complexity. Tasting notes An elegant, medium to full-bodied red showing vivid aromas of ripe red berry fruits alongside gentle notes of chocolate. The palate is smooth and well-rounded, with soft tannins providing structure and a lingering, harmonious finish. Food match A versatile partner for Portuguese-inspired dishes such as grilled pork, lamb stews, or hearty vegetarian casseroles. Grape varieties Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira
