This robust single malt is a distinguished addition to the heavily peated Ballechin series from Edradour's Highland distillery. Matured for 13 years, this cask strength edition, at a formidable 54.9%, boasts an abundance of rich smoke and spiced fruit. The aroma is characterised by smouldering embers and charred oak, complemented by honeyed sultanas and plums. On the palate, dense layers of peat smoke intermingle with woody clove and anise, followed by dried orange wheels dipped in dark chocolate. The finish reveals sweet dried fruits emerging from the smoke, accompanied by salted nuts and peppery oak.
