This single-vineyard Pinot Noir is hand-crafted from the Dijon ‘777’ clone, showcasing the unique terroir of the Nyilasmár and Nagyfai Monopole sites. The wine is elegant and expressive, combining delicate red fruit with subtle spice and oak complexity. Meet the Producer Kovács Nimród Winery is a rising star in Hungary’s Eger region, producing terroir-driven wines that express the character of each vineyard. The estate focuses on careful viticulture and meticulous small-batch winemaking. Production Grapes are sourced exclusively from the Noszvaj vineyard sites of Nyilasmár and Nagyfai. After hand-harvesting, the wine is aged for 15 months in 225L and 500L oak barrels (55% Hungarian, 45% French), with 33% new wood. Only 5,200 bottles of this Pinot Noir were produced. Tasting Notes The nose opens with fragrant sandalwood, herbal and medicinal notes, followed by cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, and pepper spice. Gentle hints of leather and tobacco add complexity. On the palate, it is velvety and round, with moderate tannins, good body, and a long, lingering finish.
