The award-winning Russian Imperial Stout, Black Square, is back. 2021 Vintage Black Square (11% abv) is strong, rich, and complex. This powerful beer carries a rich balance of tannic oak, bitter chocolate, and berry fruit. Black Square was originally conceived and first brewed in 2014 by their late Head Brewer, Roger Ryman, alongside the team from Moscow’s New Riga’s Brewery. Brewed at Christmas time each year, and matured in oak casks for a further 10 months, Black Square fulfilled Roger’s lifelong dream in 2019 when it was awarded a Gold medal at the International Brewing Awards, and went on to become an overall trophy winner! Only 4,000 bottles are available each year.
