Bernard's vision drove St Lucia Distillers to enhance their equipment and explore new rum-making possibilities. They introduced pot stills alongside their column stills, replanted dormant sugar cane fields to produce estate-grown sugar, and initiated the art of blending their diverse rums to cultivate greater character and complexity. Thus, the esteemed Chairman's Reserve brand was established. This expression is a blend of column and pot still molasses-based rums, combined with estate-grown sugar cane rum, embodying Laurie Bernard's vision. It offers flavours of butterscotch, dark berries, and sultanas with undertones of spicy oak, tobacco, pine, and nutmeg. The finish presents bananas with vanilla caramel sauce, charred pineapple with burnt brown sugar, and a touch of spice.
