Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Located in Ambonnay, a Grand Cru village in the Champagne wine region, Maison Soutiran is a family-run business, now managed by Valérie, the third generation of the family, along with her husband, Patrick Renaux. The estate extends across approximately 10 hectares of vineyards, where Pinot Noir is the dominant grape. Thanks to the family tradition and maintaining a limited production, the company focuses on enhancing the terroir, producing a range of wines of great character and expressiveness. Rose de Saignee Brut Grand Cru is made with Pinot Noir grapes sourced from old Grand Cru vineyards. After harvesting, the grapes are left to macerate for three days, a step that guarantees a brilliant, deep pink color. The finished wine then rests on the lees for 12 years before being released for sale. In the glass, the wine reveals an elegant and bold character and a fresh and fragrant aromatic profile with notes of rose, strawberry, rhubarb, and cherry. On the palate, it is rich, fruity, and well-structured. It has a lively character and a pleasant minerality. It is a slightly atypical rosé Champagne, intense and generous with a vaguely bitter and chalky finish. Try it with stuffed guinea fowl, quail, or roasted partridge.
