Old Vines Carignan Coquille de Terre is a rich and expressive red wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France, made from Carignan grapes sourced from vines up to 80 years old. The wine showcases intense red fruit aromas and soft, integrated tannins, reflecting the depth and character of its old-vine origins. Meet the producer Marilyn Lasserre is a pioneering winemaker who has revitalised Languedoc’s wine reputation since returning to France in 2008, creating wines that balance freshness, structure, and regional identity. Production Grapes are fully destemmed, with a portion undergoing hot maceration for ten hours to extract colour, tannins, and fruit aromas, followed by gentle pressing and traditional fermentation. The remaining grapes are vinified using classic methods. Half of the final blend is aged in French oak barrels for five months before blending and bottling. Tasting notes Purple-red in colour, the nose reveals ripe blackberry and subtle vanilla aromas. On the palate, the wine is dense and velvety with intense red berry flavours, gentle tannins, and a lingering, smooth finish. Food match Pairs wonderfully with homemade burgers, grilled meats, or roasted vegetables; serve at 16–18°C. Grape Carignan 100%
