This eight-year-old single malt, distilled in March 2015 and part of Glen Moray's Warehouse 1 collection, has spent its entire maturation period in Rioja red wine casks. As a result, it presents a decadent profile rich with vinous fruits and tannic oak character. On the nose, one can detect toasted nuts, stewed dark plums and cherries, a hint of tobacco, and Fig Rolls. The palate offers deep, dark notes of cherries, berries, and a softly spiced fruit loaf, underpinned by a leathery oak presence. The finish reveals tannic notes of old leather, complemented by a touch of vine leaf, peppercorn, and hazelnut.
