Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Coming from a family of winemakers, Yohan Lardy began his career as a winemaker abroad before returning to France and producing his first vintage in 2012. The domaine is located in Romanèche Thorins in the Beaujolais wine region and today extends over approximately 7 hectares of vineyards, including a prestigious 2-hectare plot of old vines on the hills of the Cru Moulin à Vent. Yohan Lardy's Fleurie Le Vivier is a youthful and easy-drinking wine made with Gamay grapes from vineyards located in the appellation at approximately 200 meters above sea level on soils of decomposed granite and light sand. After manual harvesting, semi-carbonic fermentation occurs spontaneously in stainless steel and cement vats with indigenous yeasts. In the glass, the wine reveals an ethereal and approachable character with a light ruby color and a fruity and broad aromatic profile. On the nose, it releases notes of blackcurrant and strawberry, followed by floral aromas of violet and peony against a delicately spicy background. On the palate, it is fresh and elegant, silky and lean with soft tannins and a smooth texture. It has a pleasant, refreshing acidity and a long finish that recalls saline notes. Try it with a mixed charcuterie board, ratatouille, or Coq au Vin.
