Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Founded in 1991, Alta Alella is a winery owned by the Pujol-Busquets family and located a few kilometers from Barcelona in the Serra de Mar. The estate has expanded enormously since its founding, when it covered just 2 hectares, to now encompassing approximately 90 hectares, all managed organically. Laieta Gran Reserva Brut Nature is an elegant blend of Xarel·lo, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir from the estate's vineyards at an altitude between 100 and 220 meters. The organically cultivated vines are rooted in decomposed granite soils with a sandy loam texture and enjoy a southeast exposure. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place separately for each grape variety in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, and the wine ages on the lees for 44 months. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant straw-yellow color with golden highlights, enhanced by a fine, persistent perlage. Its aromatic profile is broad and fresh with notes of ripe apple, pear, and lemon zest, peach, elderflower, and almond. On the palate, it is fresh and lively with a creamy texture and a pronounced minerality. It is well-structured, fruity, and dry, with a long and refreshing finish. Try it with oysters, sushi or sashimi.
