Bottega’s Amarone della Valpolicella “Il Vino degli Dei” — the Wine of the Gods — is a tribute to one of Italy’s most revered red wines. Crafted in the heart of Valpolicella, this 2018 vintage embodies richness, elegance, and tradition, made using the ancient appassimento method that concentrates flavour and structure. Viticulture Grapes are grown in the hilly vineyards of Valpolicella, northeast of Verona, where limestone-rich soils and a temperate climate provide ideal conditions for Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. After harvest, the grapes are dried for several months to intensify aromas and sugars.
Winemaking
Following the drying period, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented slowly. The wine is aged in oak barrels to develop complexity, depth, and velvety tannins. The result is a powerful yet refined Amarone with exceptional ageing potential. Tasting Note Intense ruby red. Aromas of dried cherry, plum, cocoa, and sweet spice. Full-bodied and smooth on the palate, with rich fruit, soft tannins, and a long, warming finish. Food Matching Ideal with braised meats, game, aged cheeses, or enjoyed slowly on its own as a meditative wine.
