Deep ruby red in colour, this Brunello opens with aromas of ripe wild berries, blackberry preserve, tobacco leaf and hints of tanned leather. The palate is expansive and generous, offering a rich mouthfeel that develops into a long, persistent finish filled with layered fruit. Producer Details Campogiovanni is part of a renowned Tuscan estate covering 180 hectares in Castelnuovo Berardenga, adjacent to its sister property Villa la Pagliaia. Under the guidance of winemaker Leonardo Bellacini, the estate follows a minimal-intervention philosophy, producing classic expressions of high-quality Sangiovese. The wines are elegant, complex and balanced, crafted from carefully selected clones and exceptional vineyards. A focus on authenticity means no heavy new oak, Cabernet influence or overly modern winemaking — just pure, traditional Brunello. In the Vineyard Campogiovanni’s 12-hectare vineyards are located on the south-facing slopes of Montalcino, an area known for its ideal combination of soils and microclimate. This terroir ensures optimal ripening of the Sangiovese grapes, resulting in depth, structure and finesse. In the Winery Harvest takes place in late September. Grapes undergo a 20-day maceration at 28–30°C, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. The wine matures for 36 months in large Slavonian oak botti, before resting for a further 12 months in bottle to achieve balance and elegance. Grape Variety 100% Sangiovese (Brunello)
