Craigellachie 19 Year Old initially matured in a variety of cask types, with half of the vatting transferred into first-fill sherry casks and the other half into first-fill bourbon casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, it presents a richer, more biscuity sweetness compared to the tropical fruit intensity of the classic 17 Year Old expression. The nose reveals scents of oak char, tinned pineapple, ginger, and Digestive Biscuits. On the palate, one experiences notes of tropical fruit, golden syrup, oaky spice, malt loaf, and creamy vanilla. The aftertaste is smoky with a biscuity sweetness.
