Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded in 1954 by Edmond Geantet, initially with 3 hectares of vineyards, the Geantet-Pansiot estate is a family-owned winery located in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, in the prestigious areas of Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. Today the vineyards extend over 22 hectares and are managed by Vincent and Fabien, second and third generation of the family. The Pinot Noir grapes for this Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits are manually collected by vineyards located not far from the city of Nuits-Saint Georges on clay soils. Vinification takes place in a traditional way with maceration in concrete or steel tanks. The finished wine then rests for 12 months in barrels before being released on the market. The wine has a bright and clear color with intense ruby-red tones. Its aromatic profile is intense and fragrant with notes of red fruits (currant, blueberry, and red berries), and delicate spicy hints. On the palate, it is broad and concentrated with a marked well-balanced acidity and fine and velvety tannins. The ending is long and slightly spicy. It is an excellent choice with roast quail or partridge and with pork filet with mushrooms.
