Glendalough Single Grain Double Barrel Irish Whiskey is one of Ireland's most decorated grain whiskeys, with a trophy cabinet stretching back to 2015. It begins its life in flame-charred ex-bourbon American oak before being finished in Oloroso casks from Montilla, a small town found in the rolling hills of the Spanish countryside. Glendalough selects the bodega, the liquid, the casks, and the cooper in this region of Spain to deliver a terroir-driven sense of place, encapsulated in the whiskey when it enters these slow-toasted casks for finishing. Why You'll Love It This is a whiskey that punches well above its price point. The combination of bourbon maturation and Spanish Oloroso finishing creates a rich, layered flavour profile that is both approachable and genuinely complex. At 42% ABV it is easy-drinking and versatile, equally at home neat, over ice, or in a classic Hot Toddy. Gold at the 2024 New York International Spirits Competition and the 2024 Irish Whiskey Awards confirms what the palate already knows.
