Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Jean-Max Roger is considered to be one of the most distinguished winemakers of the Sancerre wine region in the Haute-Loire. The winery he founded in the 70s is located in the wine-growing village of Bué and surrounded by the beautiful vineyards of the Sancerre appellation. In the vineyard, the work is constantly evolving to be sustainable with the experimentation of new techniques to avoid the negative impacts of excessive processing. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are selected from over 40-year-old vines in the Le Petit Chemarin, La Poussiee vineyards, and other plots around Bué. Here the variety of soils guarantees the maximum expression of the vine: the small stones called 'caillottes' give finesse and elegance, while the marls guarantee power and aging potential in the finished wine. In the glass, the wine shows bright golden color with greenish hues. The aromatic profile is intense and lively with fresh fruity and floral notes. In the mouth, it is round and enveloping with a marked acidity and an excellent concentration of ripe white fruit. The finish is fresh and long. The structure and elegance of the wine make it perfect in combination with grilled lobster or prawns.
