Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Nerinterra is a Spanish wine project that began in 2015, when Didier Belondrade and his son Jean, owners of the homonymous winery in Rueda, acquired the abandoned Clos del Afaitador vineyard in the village of Solanes del Molar, in Priorat. Here in this spectacular natural amphitheater, facing north in an ideal position, characterized by about 80 meters of altitude difference, on soils of slate, clay, and Licorella limestone, Belondrade began experimenting with ancient Carinyena and Garnacha vines, producing his first wine in 2018. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested in three steps and, after spontaneous fermentation, the finished wine is left to age for a year in used barrels. Nerinterra Priorat is a balanced wine that expresses all the warmth and power typical of Mediterranean reds. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant with notes of blackberry and plum, aromatic herbs, and light hints of spice and tobacco. On the palate, it is round and smooth with a good acidity and dense, ripe tannins. The finish is long, persistent, and fruity. It is the ideal wine with Italian porchetta (roast suckling pig) or lamb.
