Pieropan Soave Classico 2024 is an elegant white wine from the heart of the Soave Classico hills in Veneto, Italy. Crafted from Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, it expresses bright citrus and almond blossom notes, balanced by a crisp acidity and a long, refined finish. Meet the producer The Pieropan family has been producing wines in Soave since the 1890s. In the early 1930s, they were the first to bottle a wine labelled “Soave,” and in 1971, Nino Pieropan pioneered the single-vineyard concept with the ‘Calvarino’. Today, brothers Andrea and Dario continue the family tradition, combining respect for history with meticulous vineyard management to create high-quality, terroir-driven wines. Production The grapes are sourced from west-facing hillside vineyards in the Soave Classico area, planted on clay-basalt soils of volcanic origin at 100–300 metres above sea level. Vines range from 6 to 60 years old, trained in both Guyot and Pergola Veronese systems, and are grown organically without pesticides. Grapes were hand-harvested in September (Trebbiano di Soave) and October (Garganega), destemmed, crushed, and fermented in temperature-controlled glass-lined cement tanks. The wine then aged on fine lees until bottling and received a short additional bottle maturation before release. Tasting notes Brilliant straw yellow with greenish highlights, the nose reveals almond blossoms, marzipan, and a touch of citrus. On the palate, it is rounded and fresh, with ripe fruit flavours harmonised by crisp acidity, leading to a long, elegant finish.
