A deft but still easily perceptible dollop of wood sets off airy and pretty aromas of red currant, dark cherry and plenty of floral elements. There is markedly better refinement to the utterly delicious and silky textured flavors that possess both good richness and a subtle minerality that slowly emerges on the balanced and persistent finale. This is a quality Volnay villages that is worth a look.
