Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. No need to decant. Coming from a family of winegrowers since 1802, Michel Gonet created his own eponymous champagne house in 1973, with the idea of creating champagnes that would be pure and respectful of the environment. Michel developed the company until it was extended to 36 hectares in the 1980s. Today, his three children, Charles-Henri, Frédéric, and Sophie, have taken over from him and continue to carry on their father's vision. It is said that Michel Gonet's family has a gift for simply receiving and creating memories and friendships around their champagnes. The Chardonnay grapes for this Blanc de Blancs come from one of the most famous communes of Champagne, Mesnil sur Oger. They are vinified in the Extra Brut version, and then the wine ages for 10 years before being disgorged. Bright golden yellow in color, the wine opens with complex and generous aromas of stone fruit, toasted almonds, and citrus fruits, but also flint, butter, and marzipan. In the mouth, it is rich and silky, and the notes of butter return accompanied by good minerality and a structured, intense, and persistent body. Perfect with grilled white meat, seafood main courses, and delicate fish preparations.
