Aberlour A'Bunadh Single Malt Whisky

Aberlour A’Bunadh is a cask-strength Speyside single malt whisky matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry butts, known for its rich, intense flavour and bold character. The name A’Bunadh means “the original” in Scots Gaelic, and the whisky is crafted as a tribute to Aberlour’s founder, James Fleming. Each batch is handmade and bottled at natural cask strength, typically ranging between 59% and 61% ABV, with no chill filtration and natural colour, preserving its full-bodied texture and depth. The nose is deep and spicy, with aromas of praline, spiced orange, candied zest and golden raisins, alongside hints of nutmeg, cinnamon and walnut. On the palate, it delivers a powerful burst of black cherries, ginger, dark chocolate and cooked stone fruits, balanced by bittersweet marmalade and sweet spice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of oak, orange and cinnamon, showcasing the whisky’s sherried richness. Each batch of A’Bunadh varies slightly in flavour and strength, making it a favourite among collectors and connoisseurs who appreciate its evolving profile. It’s best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to unlock its complexity.

Cask 389 from Annandale from 2015 has been matured in an ex bourbon cask creating a light golden hue single malt whisky. Aromas are beautifully sweet on the nose with notes of cream soda, pear drops, fresh green apples. The palate has wonderful bursts of tropical fruits including mango, pineapple and cool fresh melon that leads to a lingering note of vanilla and creamy caramel. The Man O' Words range is dedicated to Robert Burns, Scotland's favourite Poet, exciseman to the Annan area in his later years with ties to Dumfries / The Globe Inn, Co-Owner David's favourite pub in his rugby days. Man O' Words is the name sake of the unpeated expressions.
