Akashi-Tai Ginjo Yuzushu, 10% vol - 50cl
Yuzushu is a citrussy liqueur made from sake and Japanese yuzu fruit whose flavour is a cross between grapefruit and mandarin oranges. It can be drunk ice-cold like limoncello or used in cocktails as a substitute for triple sec, lemon or lime juice. Food pairing: A mouth-watering match for tropical sorbet or cheesecake.
Akashi-Tai, Japanese Sake, Honjozo Tokubetsu, 15% vol - 72cl
A very lightly fortified Tokubetsu (special) sake, this makes a great alternative to fuller white wines like Viognier or Pinot Gris. It has delicious full umami flavours but is fresh enough to go with a wide variety of dishes. Food pairing: A superb pairing for seafood or teriyaki flavoured dishes. Tuck into this Sake with a hearty cheeseboard including cheddar and Comté.
