Akashi-Tai Shiraume Ginjo Umeshu Plum Infused Sake 50cl
Conventional umeshu, or plum liqueur, is made by preserving Japanese ume plums in distilled spirits. However, Shiraume is a luxurious plum liqueur made by preserving plums in the finest of Japanese sakes premium ginjo sake made from Yamada Nishiki rice. In Shiraume, the mild flavour of brewed sake nurtured to perfection blends harmoniously with the fruity flavour of ume plums. No sharp tang of alcohol mars the finish to the palate, as sometimes happens with conventional plum liqueurs. Since ancient times and even in Japan today, plum liqueur has long been considered a therapeutic drink. Shiraume can be enjoyed many ways it is equally pleasant on ice or blended with either cold or hot water
Edmond Briottet Creme de Cassis de Dijon
As is the case as regards all of Briottet's cremes de cassis, for this Dijon Creme de Cassis 20% they use the most prestigious blackcurrant variety. Indeed, “Noir de Bourgogne” variety (meaning Black of Burgundy). These berries are harvested exclusively in Burgundy in France. The blackcurrant berries are macerated in a water and alcohol solution for about 10 weeks. Maceration gives the best result to extract all flavours from that berries. The alcohol-containing juice thus obtained is called infusion. Then, they add French white sugar to obtain this creme de cassis. This liqueur is Briottet's top-of-the-range blackcurrant liqueur due to its high blackcurrant berries content. Their ancestral know-how means that they produce premium-quality cassis. We recommend that this product be employed for such diverse uses as cooking, desserts, cocktails and, of course, the ever-popular white wine-blackcurrant liqueur drink.
