AltoLandon Mil Historias Organic Malbec 2024

High‑altitude vineyards, extreme diurnal shifts, organic farming and a winemaker determined to push boundaries. This is Mil Historias Malbec , crafted by Rosalia Molina at Bodegas Altolandon in the wild, elevated plains of Manchuela. At 1,100 metres above sea level, the vines grow in conditions that test their limits, producing fruit of remarkable intensity, freshness and purity. The result is a Spanish Malbec with depth, lift and a vivid sense of place, shaped by native yeasts, minimal intervention and ageing split between French oak and clay amphorae. A wine born from altitude, biodiversity and meticulous care. Why You'll Love It This is Malbec with altitude‑driven energy and organic clarity. It delivers powerful dark fruit wrapped in floral lift, spice and natural freshness, offering a style that feels both bold and beautifully refined. The combination of amphora and oak ageing adds texture without heaviness, allowing the fruit to shine. Vegan, organic and full of character, it is a bottle that stands apart from more conventional expressions. Vineyard and Production The grapes come from a 20‑year‑old organic and biodynamic vineyard set on a flat plain surrounded by mountains, where cool nights and long sunny days create perfect balance. Hand‑harvested after mid‑October, the fruit undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, gentle extraction and extended skin contact. Ageing takes place in third‑use French oak and clay amphorae, giving complexity, structure and a subtle earthiness while preserving purity. Natura l stabilisation during the region’s freezing winter completes the process. Tasting Notes Expect concentrated flavours of blackberry, blueberry and plum layered with violet, rose and rosemary. Notes of cocoa, mint, earth, espresso, tobacco, dark chocolate and black pepper add depth and intrigue. Fine tannins and lively acidity give structure and lift, creating a finish that is long, complex and expressive. Perfect Pairings A superb match for lamb

Spier Seaward Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Seaward grapes are selected from South Africa's top coastal areas, growing in a narrow band close to the cold Atlantic ocean and the temperate waters of False Bay. Such terroir provides what you might call a perfect storm - with barely any human intervention needed to produce outstanding harvests for our winemakers, every year. The vineyards are 6-20km from the ocean. They are planted on a range of aspects, from flat to north-eastern facing slopes that moderate phenolic development and enhance fruit preservation. The rich and deeply decomposed granite soil retains water well and is moderately fertile, resulting in low, concentrated yields. This adds to the complexity and tannin structure of the wine. Spier is one of South Africa's oldest wine farms with a recorded winemaking history dating back to 1692. The winemaking team is committed to crafting wines truly expressive of their terroir, with minimal interference. While rooted in this heritage, they have a vibrant and conscious energy. Their Growing for Good initiatives empower communities to make positive social and environmental change. Ranging from art and entrepreneurship to regenerative farming and ecological restoration, these projects and partnerships are creating a ripple effect of lasting and meaningful impact.
