Angostura 15 Year Old "1787"
Angostura's 15 Year Old "1787" rum, launched in the latter half of 2016, presents a dark hue with a substantial flavour profile characterised by dried fruit, toasted oak, and robust spice. This distinguished Trinidadian rum is particularly suitable for sipping neat. The name commemorates the year the first sugar mill was established at the Lapeyrouse Estate. The aroma reveals notes of apricot pastries, rum-soaked sultanas, and a pronounced hint of cinnamon bark. On the palate, a softly charred oak smokiness is initially prominent, quickly mellowed by the richness of additional dried fruit. The aftertaste features honey, crunchy brown sugar, and a subtle suggestion of new leather.
MacNair's Exploration Rum Jamaica Peated Rum
A blend of red wine, rye, ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks have been used for this unusual but very wonderful rum. This expression has had subtle peat smoke and charred cedar wood run through by expert Billy Walker. This wonderful rum will sit in the glass with a golden barley appearance. The nose has lashings of pineapple, smoked plantains and cinnamon spice, a touch of vanilla, butterscotch and smoked Caribbean jerky. The flavours are bursting with ripe bananas, grapefruit and butterscotch, mango, sugar cane with ginger and vanilla.
