Araldica I Classici Barolo Flori 2021
Araldica I Classici Barolo Flori is a classic, characterful red wine from one of Piemonte's most progressive and respected cooperatives. Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo , it delivers all the hallmark qualities of Barolo DOCG, with tobacco, leather, and violet-scented aromas, firm yet generous tannins, and a long, silky finish that speaks to the nobility of this great Italian variety. Meet the Producer Araldica is Piemonte's largest and most progressive cooperative, yet retains the feel of a small, family-run estate thanks to the inspired guidance of winemaker and manager Claudio Manera, whose father Livio was the cooperative's first winemaker in the 1950s. With 80% of production bottled at the company's headquarters in the Monferrato hills, an extraordinarily high percentage for a cooperative of this scale, Araldica is committed to delivering wines of genuine quality, accessibility, and outstanding value. Vineyard and Production The Flori Barolo is sourced from carefully selected Nebbiolo vineyards in the Barolo DOCG zone, vinified at Araldica's modern winery and aged in accordance with Barolo's strict production regulations. The result is a wine that combines the traditional character of the appellation with the approachable, fruit-forward style that has made Araldica one of Piemonte's most trusted names. Tasting Notes Aromas of tobacco, leather, and violet lead the nose, with classic Nebbiolo complexity and depth. The palate is firm and pleasingly structured, with plump fruit, a round silky texture, and a good, lengthy finish that rewards patience in the glass. Grape Variety Nebbiolo Perfect Pairings A natural partner for braised beef, slow-roasted lamb, wild boar ragu, and truffle-based pasta dishes. Also excellent alongside aged Parmigiano Reggiano and rich, earthy risottos. Montes Outer Limits Zapallar Coast Pinot Noir 2022
Outer Limits by Montes, Zapallar Pinot Noir is a refined Pinot Noir from the Zapallar Vineyard in Chile’s Aconcagua Valley. Planted just 7 km from the Pacific coast at 150 metres above sea level, the granite soils with layers of clay, silt, and gravel produce grapes with natural minerality, racy acidity, and concentrated aromas. Hand-harvested and gently vinified, the wine undergoes cold maceration, controlled fermentation, and extended skin contact before ageing in a mix of new and used French oak barrels, resulting in a bright, elegant Pinot Noir with finesse and complexity. Meet the producer Montes was established in 1988 by Aurelio Montes Jnr, Douglas Murray, Alfredo Vidaurre, and Pedro Grand, with a mission to produce Chile’s finest wines from the country’s best terroirs. The Outer Limits range represents the winery’s ambition to explore innovative vineyard sites and push the boundaries of Chilean viticulture. Production Grapes are hand-picked and sorted carefully. They undergo cold pre-fermentation maceration to extract aroma and colour, followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures. Extended skin contact adds structure and depth, with a small portion fermented without skins to retain fresh fruit character. Natural malolactic conversion is followed by 10–12 months ageing in French oak barrels. Tasting notes Bright ruby red in colour, with aromas of raspberry, strawberry, and cherry, complemented by subtle notes of damp earth, herbs, and floral nuances. On the palate, the wine is light-bodied yet structured, with rounded tannins, elegant texture, and a refined, lingering finish. Food match Pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, grilled salmon, and lightly seasoned pork dishes. Grape 100% Pinot Noir
