M. Chapoutier Rouge Clair 2024
M. Chapoutier Rouge Clair is a delicate, fruit-driven red wine from one of the Rhone Valley's most celebrated producers. Blending Grenache and Syrah from clay limestone terraces, it is crafted for freshness and aromatic purity rather than weight or extraction, making it one of the most versatile and approachable bottles in the French Wines range. Why You'll Love It M. Chapoutier is one of the great names of the Rhone Valley , renowned for biodynamic viticulture and wines of exceptional terroir expression. Rouge Clair is their lighter, more playful side, a wine designed to be enjoyed chilled as an aperitif or with food, without any of the weight or tannin that can make bigger reds less versatile. Strawberry, raspberry, and floral notes make it immediately appealing, and its delicate, fruity finish keeps you coming back for more. Vineyard & Production Sourced from carefully selected clay limestone terraces, blending 80% Grenache Noir and 20% Syrah. After de-stemming, the grapes are placed in vat with yeast for 72 hours without intervention to limit colour extraction and enhance aromatics. Alcoholic fermentation continues at 20°C, followed by light additions of sulfur after malolactic fermentation to preserve the fruit's pure flavour and freshness. Tasting Notes Delicate aromas of strawberry, mashed raspberry, and floral notes with a light, elegant touch. On the palate, it is fresh and fruit-driven with a delicate, fruity finish that leaves a pleasant, lingering sensation. Best enjoyed slightly chilled. Perfect Pairings Excellent served chilled as an aperitif or alongside charcuterie, light meat dishes, grilled salmon, and soft cheeses. Its lightness and freshness also make it a natural partner for picnics and al fresco dining. The Blend Grenache Noir 80%, Syrah 20%.
