Astoria Medaglia Millesimato Superiore is pale green-yellow in the glass with a fine, persistent bead. The nose is classic and inviting, showing white peach, melon and spring blossom, leading into a ripe, aromatic palate that’s long, balanced and very easy to enjoy. The fruit comes from hillside vineyards at around 150 metres above sea level. Glera grapes are hand-harvested in September at optimal ripeness, then gently pressed. Both primary and secondary fermentations take place in stainless steel, with a short period on lees to add a little extra texture and depth while keeping the wine fresh and fruit-driven.

Grapes are pressed immediately on arrival at the winery, fermented in stainless steel at 18 degrees, then bottled for a second fermentation and aged for 12 months sur latte before disgorgement. The result is a wine of real finesse and character. Tasting Notes A delicate pale powdery pink in colour with fine, regular bubbles. The nose is bright and inviting, with lemon, grapefruit, and a lift of red fruits including redcurrant. On the palate, a fresh, lively attack with generous flavours of strawberry, raspberry, and a hint of English candy, balanced by a clean, zesty acidity. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees.
