Averaen, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2023

Averaen crafts elegant Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley, where cool maritime air meets volcanic soils to produce wines of grace and precision. This 2023 vintage shows the hallmark transparency that makes Oregon Pinot so compelling - bright red fruit balanced by earthy minerality and that telltale Willamette Valley freshness. We find this wine perfectly poised between immediacy and development. The fruit is singing now, but there's enough structure to reward a few years in the cellar. Classic Oregon Pinot Noir that captures both the purity of the grape and the character of its place.

Vineyard & Production Sourced from the Estate Vineyard near the Chateau and the Stornetta Vineyard in the rolling hills of Western Carneros. The 2022 vintage experienced a late wet spring followed by almost idyllic growing conditions, with harvest beginning about two weeks later than normal. The wine is fermented in small open-topped tanks and aged for 10 months in French oak Burgundy barrels, specially selected from cooperages that complement the aroma and flavour profile of this wine. Tasting Notes Intensely aromatic with notes of raspberry jam, blackberries, cassis, and baking spices, complemented by hints of dried roses and orange peel. Fresh and lively on the palate with delicate balance, vibrant fruit character, and fine tannins. The finish is elegant and inviting with lingering red fruit and subtle spice. Perfect Pairings A versatile wine that shines with simply prepared dishes like grilled or braised salmon, roasted chicken, veal, pork tenderloin, duck breast, or mushroom risotto. Also enhances the vibrant flavours of Californian and Mediterranean cuisine, including herb-cruste
