Balblair 18 Year Old Single Malt Whisky
Balblair 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt of remarkable depth and autumnal richness. Slowly crafted and matured in traditional dunnage warehouses on earthen floors, it begins in American oak ex-bourbon casks before finishing in first-fill Spanish oak butts, adding elegance, complexity and the distillery’s signature bright, fruity character. The whisky pours an oiled cedar colour, with a nose that combines rich toffee and baked pears against a backdrop of supple new leather. On the palate, juicy apricots, seasoned oak and vanilla custard create a masterful balance, while the finish is long and warming, enriched with fresh spices and raisin notes. Non-chill filtered and of natural colour, Balblair 18 Year Old exemplifies the distillery’s house style: capturing the core esters, floral notes and fruity oils at the heart of the spirit while embracing the full-bodied, nutty complexity that develops through slow maturation. This expression is perfect for connoisseurs seeking a sophisticated, well-rounded Highland single malt with elegance and character.
Elements of Islay Bw8 51.2% 50cl
A multi-layered Bowmore is a vatting of whiskies distilled between 2001 and 2003. Left to rest and age in ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry butts for 16 to 18 years, it showcases its classic and true Islay character through a window of tropical fruits and coastal freshness. Overall you will find citrus, tropical fruits, coastal brine and smoke. The nose showcases grapefruit mixed amongst notes of brown sugar. A hint of charcoal smoke with baked lemons that develop into a richer, more pronounced tropical note of under-ripe mango! The palate is old-fashioned chocolate limes. Citrus and salt blend perfectly together and form a rather rich fruit note of papaya and kiwi. The finish is dry, herby and the finish lingers with a wave of kiln smoke. Only 1320 bottles produced!
