Barolo DOCG 'La Morra', Enzo Boglietti 2021
Enzo Boglietti and his brother Gianni switched from dairy farming in the late 1980s to wine production, using the 3ha of vines belonging to Enzo’s grandfather. A further 19ha have been inherited through Enzo’s mother. A leading modernist in the early 90s, Enzo was an exponent of smaller, newer barriques, and shorter, warmer fermentations, giving the wines rich, fruit-driven profiles with softer tannins. Sourced from Boglietti’s holdings across La Morra's top sites including parcels in Fossati, Case Nere, and Boiolo, the ‘La Morra’ is a beautifully composed blend that captures the essence of the commune. " Readers who have not tasted these wines in some time owe it to themselves to do so, as quality has exploded in the last few years. " Antonio Galloni, Vinous
Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon Stellenbosch 2021
Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon is a structured and expressive red wine from Stellenbosch, South Africa, showcasing the hallmark richness and elegance of the region’s Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine reflects Boekenhoutskloof’s meticulous approach to vineyard management and winemaking, emphasising varietal purity, balance, and refined oak integration. Meet the producer Boekenhoutskloof, located in the Franschhoek Valley and parts of Stellenbosch, is one of South Africa’s most respected estates. Renowned for producing bold, elegant wines with complexity and ageing potential, the winery combines traditional practices with innovative techniques to craft wines that are deeply expressive of their terroir. Production Grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness to ensure concentrated flavours and precise tannin structure. After careful sorting, fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks with temperature control to manage extraction. The wine undergoes post-fermentation maceration to build structure and texture, followed by maturation in French oak barrels—most of which are new or first-fill—for 18 months to integrate tannins and develop complexity. Tasting notes Deep ruby in colour, the nose is rich with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, cassis, and subtle notes of cedar, graphite, and spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and layered flavours of ripe dark fruits, chocolate, and fine oak. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent. Food match Ideal with grilled or roasted red meats, lamb, game, or mature hard cheeses. Grape Cabernet Sauvignon 100%
