Beaune Premier Cru 'Les Reversées', Domaine Clos de la Chapelle 2023

"White flowers and a hint of limestone introduce this wine. The palate is fresh and lively, with good acidity and a balanced structure from 25% new oak." Our note This is our second vintage representing the wonderful Clos de la Chapelle, an exciting new domaine born in Volnay. Certified organic and practicing biodynamics, the domaine specialises in small-batch, terroir-expressive wines from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. "The marketplace has not yet quite fully woken up to Domaine Clos de la Chapelle, but judging by some of their 2017s (and since) it really should." Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy The 2023 vintage, harvested under perfect conditions, highlights their signature style of freshness, salinity, and fine tannins. These wines are approachable in their youth but have the structure to develop beautifully with age.

JCP Maltus, Le Nardian Blanc 2014

Le Nardian is the product of a wager between their now-retired Consulting Oenologue, Gilles Pauquet (also consultant to Chateau Cheval Blanc, Figeac and Canon) and JCP Maltus, that a low cropped white would see similar benefits to a red wine. Le Nardian has, as one of its major components, Muscadelle - a cousin of Viognier. They manage to get an almost Rhône-style sense with the wine as its aromatic quality comes to the fore.
