Ben Nevis 9 Year Old SMOS Reserve Cask Parcel 12

This 9 year old single malt whisky from Highland distillery Ben Nevis has been produced from four refill butts. The nose is fatty and rich with dusty dark chocolate and sultanas. A beautiful thick palate with charred marshmallow and kirsch chocolates. Almonds and dried fruit build and develop with more melted chocolate.

Talisker Port Ruighe Single Malt Whisky

Talisker Port Ruighe Single Malt Whisky is a bold and complex Island whisky, double matured in port casks to fuse maritime smokiness with rich berry sweetness. Crafted at Talisker Distillery on the rugged Isle of Skye, Port Ruighe (pronounced “Portree”) pays tribute to the Scottish merchants who helped establish the port wine trade. This no-age-statement single malt begins its journey in traditional American oak casks before undergoing a second maturation in ruby port casks, which impart depth and a vibrant fruit character. On the nose, it opens with blackberries and gentle smoke, followed by crème pâtissière, custard and a touch of coconut. The palate delivers roasty pineapple and sweet barbecue smoke, layered with honey, cantaloupe and toffee. The port influence brings a succulent richness of ripe plums and dark berries, beautifully balanced by Talisker’s signature peppery spice and coastal salinity. The finish is long and smoky, with lingering notes of fruit and charred wood that evoke a fading bonfire on the shore.
