Benriach Smoke Season Single Malt Whisky
This is a super heavily peated Speyside single malt from Benriach. aromas of orange peel, chocolate and dry peat smoke. The palate showcases a nice sweetness from the use of virgin oak casks and a light dry woody smoke profile with some cloves. The finish is almonds and a smoky peppercorn finish.
GlenDronach Port Wood
The Glendronach Port Wood has an intense rich cherry wood appearance. On the nose it is bramble and strawberry am with top nuances of cherry blossom and honeysuckle on a base of sandalwood and ginger. The palate is filled with blackberry and roasted apple crumble with freshly baked gingerbread, developing into a baked orange and black cherry back note. The finish is sultana and cherry cake lingering into a rich dark fruity finish. The GlenDronach Port Wood is inspired by the historical import of casked port into Scotland during the 19th century. The GlenDronach distillery was established in 1826 by founder James Allardice, at a time when both sherry and port were ‘de rigueur’, with the finest port pipes travelling along Portugal’s Douro River, destined for the wine cellars of Scotland’s gentry.
