Berry Bros & Rudd 1990 Miltonduff Cask No. 3809 33 Year Old 54.1%
This elegant Speyside dram gently rises from the glass with soft notes of coconut, warm malt loaf and stewed, spiced apples. A little time in the glass brings out candied pecans and peach skin. The palate is wonderfully fresh and vibrant with spice, soft fruit, citrus and honey. There is a perfect balance of subtle oak and fresh, peachdriven distillate. Once again, we are reminded there is no substitute for long maturation in a delicate refill cask. Miltonduff Distillery was built in 1824, south of Elgin in the Glen of Pluscarden. In 1964, two Lomond stills were added, producing a different style of whisky which was known as Mosstowie. These were removed in 1981.
Bunnahabhain 30 Year Old Single Malt
Every drop of the 30 year old from Bunnahabhain is matured in ex-sherry casks and makes for one of their oldest whiskies available. Aromas of butterscotch, beeswax and sweet sherry while the palate shows strawberries and cream in a dominating manner. This gradually develops into honey nut cereals and an abundance of rich toffee.
