This subtle Highlander initially offers charming aromas of malted barley and austere green fruits, as is often the way however a little time in the glass allows this whisky to open up and notes of manuka honey, lemon oil and cedar appear. The distillate’s fruity character dominates the palate bringing orange, underripe peach, green wine gums and honeyed toast. The finish shows waves of wood spice and a touch of vanilla. Macduff Distillery, located in Macduff town, sits on the shore of the Deveron Estuary. The town’s harbour became home to herring fleets, the mainstay of the town’s economy. The distillery is relatively modern, having being built in 1960.

Glen Moray 18 Year Old 47.2%

Glen Moray 18 years old has been aged in first fill American oak casks to produce a smooth speyside single malt with soft sweet flavours of vanilla and balancing oak notes. colour: Anitique Gold Nose: Sherried oak, butter toffee and delicate smoke. Taste: Beautifully complex. Heather infused honey and warm spice combine with a hint of oak smoke. Finish: Mellow and long. One to be savoured and never forgotten.
