Berry Bros & Rudd 2010 Mannochmore Single Malt
Quite mineral, grassy and malty on the nose as the fruit notes emerge. There is a green edge of lime and kiwi, apple and a little peppery edge. The palate builds well with more in the way of lemon zest, buttered toast and white pepper. Lingering and balanced in a refined manner. Mannochmore located just south of Elgin was built in 1971 as an addition to the Glenlossie distillery site and intended to produce spirit for Diageo’s Haig blends in times of need.
Glenmorangie A Tale Of The Forest Limited Edition Single Malt
Captivated by the notion of a whisky steeped in the scents, sights and sounds of the forest this has been made by an ancient method of kilning barley with botanicals - for this juniper berries, birch bark and heather blossom were used. The result is a single malt whisky that is as lush as the forest itself. Aromas of pine, juniper and coriander are laced with wisps of smoke. Notes of deep green eucalyptus, lit by rays of bitter orange, drift to a slow, gentle oak finish.
