Berry Bros & Rudd 2010 Mannochmore Single Malt

Quite mineral, grassy and malty on the nose as the fruit notes emerge. There is a green edge of lime and kiwi, apple and a little peppery edge. The palate builds well with more in the way of lemon zest, buttered toast and white pepper. Lingering and balanced in a refined manner. Mannochmore located just south of Elgin was built in 1971 as an addition to the Glenlossie distillery site and intended to produce spirit for Diageo’s Haig blends in times of need.

Old Pulteney 15 Year Old

Old Pulteney 15 Year Old is a perfectly balanced Highland single malt, matured for fifteen years to marry richness and refinement. This whisky reflects the dual nature of its coastal home, combining indulgent, warming flavours with lighter, refreshing maritime notes that define The Maritime Malt. Initially aged in second-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, it develops rich, dark spices before a finishing period in first-fill Spanish oak casks enhances chocolate, dried fruit and subtle sweetness. Distilled and matured by the sea on the Caithness coast, it absorbs the brisk, salty air year after year, giving this expression its distinctive coastal character. In the glass, Old Pulteney 15 Year Old is a rich amber colour. The nose is intense yet balanced, bursting with dried fruit, ripe apples, citrus, honey and creamy vanilla, with subtle chocolate and floral undertones. On the palate, fragrant spices and Christmas cake mingle with layers of chocolate and dark toffee, while a hint of sea air lingers on the long, elegant finish. Award-winning and widely praised, Old Pulteney 15 Year Old has received Double Gold at the 2023 International Spirits Challenge, Gold at the 2022 IWSC with 95 points, and Silver at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This expression is ideal for those seeking a sophisticated, balanced single malt that highlights the unique influence of the Highland coast.
