Berry Bros & Rudd Small Batch 2013 Glen Elgin Single Malt Whisky
The nose opens with Glen Elgin’s trademark burnt marmalade notes, alongside some apples and pears. A little time in the glass brings forward notes of crème brûlée with spiced cream. The palate is muscular, reminding us of Glen Elgin’s traditional worm tubs, while a perfect balance of fruit and oak waltz over the tongue. With characterful liquid like this, it’s hard to fathom why Glen Elgin isn’t one of the biggest names in Scotch whisky.
Carn Mor Linkwood 2011 10 Year Old 47.5%
Distilled in 2011 and matured for 10 years in casks that previously held calvados with a bottle yield of only 817 bottles. Flavours of fresh orchard fruits and citrus with a touch of vanilla.
