Bodegas Aragonesas Aragonia Seleccion Especial Garnacha 2021
This bold and expressive red is crafted in the Campo de Borja region, just south of Rioja and Navarra, where Garnacha reaches some of its finest expressions. Bodegas Aragonesas, an innovative and ambitious winery, has pioneered a unique approach: selecting the best wines from local cooperatives, before blending, maturing, and finishing them in-house. This meticulous process allows them to elevate quality and consistency, ensuring wines of exceptional character. Production The grapes are sourced from vines over 50 years old, producing naturally low yields of intensely concentrated fruit. Following vinification, the wine is matured in oak, where it develops depth, structure, and layers of complexity. Tasting notes A vivid, ripe Garnacha brimming with aromas of red berries, wild herbs, mineral notes, and roasted spice. The palate is broad, harmonious, and richly textured, with refined tannins supporting generous fruit and spice. Long, complex, and elegant on the finish. Food match Perfect with grilled meats, game, hearty casseroles, or rich vegetarian dishes such as aubergine stew or mushroom risotto. Grape varieties 100% Garnacha Tinta
Kalfu Sumpai Syrah 2017
A deep violet red, medium volume in the mouth with crisp acidity and great freshness. The round, firm tannins underpin a gentle, elegant background of French oak in which spices intermingle with herbs. The grapes were 100% hand-harvested. Prior to fermentation, the must underwent a cold maceration for a period of 7 days. Once the alcoholic fermentation was underway, gentle extraction took place. The wine was then aged in Burgundian French oak barrels for 12 months; 15% new, 25% second use and the remaining 60% were third or fourth use.
