BOLGHERI ROSSO Le Macchiole 2022
50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah. Youthful, lustrous crimson. Full cherry nose with hints of cassis and damson supported by a suggestion of oak. Lots of juice and fruit but not heavy-handed. A rich layer of sandy tannins becoming more muscled on the finish, so I wouldn’t try this without food. More to come with further bottle ageing. (WS)

100% pinot noir. Very ripe aromas include those of black cherry, cassis and a whiff of warm earth. The sleek, delicious and nicely vibrant flavors display good length and only mild rusticity on the balanced finale. This offers solid quality for the genre.
