Bollinger, Special Cuvée Champagne NV

“Bollinger? If it’s ’69, you were expecting me.” Widely acknowledged as one of the world’s finest champagnes, it is no surprise that James Bond is partial to this tipple. Champagne Bollinger has featured in almost every Bond classic, receiving its first mention in the 1956 novel Diamonds Are Forever when Tiffany Case sends a bottle up to Bond’s cabin on the Queen Elizabeth. Covering 164ha of prized vineyards, Bollinger is one of the few remaining independent family owned Champagne houses. Their distinctive style is the product of rigorous methods and time-honoured traditions passed down through the generations: a symbol of history and expertise. The Special Cuvée is meticulously crafted from a Pinot Noir dominant blend of harvest grapes and reserve wines. Dry and creamy, the delicate bubbles complement the toasted brioche, honey and rich fruitiness of the wine.

Champagne Pol Roger Brut Reserve NV

' Pol Roger made his first sale of wine in January 1849. As early as 1855, Pol began to favour the production of brut Champagne, as he knew that this was the type of Champagne which the English preferred. Since then Pol Roger has been inextricably linked with British culture - it was a favourite of Sir Winston Churchill and it has since become a staple at British Royal Weddings. In addition to its own 92 hectare vineyard located in Épernay, the house has worked tirelessly to ensure sourcing of the best grapes from growers, in order to maintain its current level of excellence which is recognized worldwide. From 2001 to 2011 the winery underwent a complete renovation; an undertaking which ensured that the cellar master, Dominique Petit, could vinify cuvees of irrefutable consistency and quality. '
