Bombo Caramel and Coconut Rum Liqueur
Blended in Newquay, Cornwall by the Real Rum Company, Bombo Caramel & Coconut is a flavoured rum based drink combining the exotic flavours of coconut, caramel and Caribbean rum. A seductively smooth drink, with coconut on the nose to begin followed by the deeper smell of caramel. The palate is smooth and luscious, mouth coating with a hint of coconut on the finish. Drink on its own or over ice. The recipe is inspired by one of the oldest mixed rum drinks in the world originating from an 18th century pirate recipe where rum was mixed with sugar and spices. It was also known as Bumboo or Bumbo. This was to help disguise the rather rough taste of the rums being produced back in those days, thankfully a problem we don't have to contend with in this century! Bombo Rum is available in a further more varieties; Bombo Caramel & Banana , Bombo Caramel & Spices at 24% ABV plus Bombo Full On Caramel Caramel & Spices , Bombo Full On Caramel & Coconut and Bombo Full On Caramel & Banana at 40% ABV. Bambo Caramel & Coconut rum combines the exotic flavours of coconut and caramel with aged Caribbean rum. OVD Demerara Rum
Scotland's No 1 Dark Rum and the best selling Demerara rum in the world, O.V.D. was originally imported from Guyana in 1838 by George Morton, a Dundee based brandy and whisky bottler and blender - since recognised as Scotland's leading rum specialist. OVD is made from the finest Demerara Sugar, produced from the finest sugarcane, the sweetest in the Caribbean, grown on the banks of the famous Demerara River in Guyana. OLD because it has been imported to Scotland since 1838 and is aged longer than most rums to obtain a mellow, rich and spicy taste. Vatted, because specially imported, top quality rums from Guyana are vatted or blended carefully to a consistent style which is smooth, rounded and full-bodied. Demerara, because it is made from the very best sugar cane stock and comes from the country in which the Dutch established the colony of Demerara. The rums from this region are renown for being dark and aromatic and for their richness of flavour. OVD is often described as "pure Caribbean". The image is one of colour and character, and like the Caribbean people, it is big hearted, friendly and a great mixer. OVD can be drunk neat, on the rocks or with a mixer drink. Drink it with Ginger, Cola or fresh orange juice. Also popular with Peppermint Cordial or blackcurrant. Nose: Slightly sweeter than most dark rums, OVD has a distinctive oaky aroma that comes from the blending of some of the finest Demurer rums that have matured in oak. Taste: OVD is creamy rum, with complex toffee flavours, rich and fruity on the palate and with a mellow finish.
