BOURGOGNE BLANC Les Hauts de la Combe Domaine Joseph Colin 2022
(from Puligny vines). More subtle spice and floral elements suffuse the softly spiced white fleshed fruit aromas. The delicious, generously proportioned and attractively textured flavors also conclude in a clean and dry finish that offers just a bit more depth. This is very good for its level and worth a look.
SAINT VÉRAN La Roche Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau 2023
The 2023 Saint Véran La Roche comes from the oldest vines on the estate, around 70 years old, that tend to suffer millerandage. Raised in barrel, it has a rocky, almost chalky bouquet that perhaps does not have the flair or complexity of the à la Côte cuvées. The palate is charming with pure nectarine and clementine notes on the entry and well-pitched acidity. A subtle spicy note emerges towards the finish, which shrugs off the reduction after a couple of minutes. Good potential.
