Bourgogne Chardonnay, Domaine Ballot-Millot 2020

Domaine Ballot-Millot, now expertly led by 17th-generation Charles Ballot, continues to be one of Meursault’s premier estates. Charles practices organic farming in the vineyards and follows the lunar cycle in the cellar, allowing nature to shape his winemaking process. His philosophy is simple: let the terroir speak for itself. The result is wines that are consistently expressive and elegant. The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was exceptional, producing wines with ripe fruit, balanced acidity, and great harmony.

Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes, Meurgey-Croses 2023

"Old vines (60-90 years) from four plots contribute creaminess and a broad mid-palate. Juicy with hints of spiciness and subtle oak, this wine has excellent balance and length." Our note Pierre Meurgey is a rising star in Burgundy, blending tradition with modern techniques to craft precise and terroir-driven wines. His focus is on showcasing the nuanced characteristics of each appellation, from the Mâconnais to the Côte de Beaune. The 2023 vintage was particularly noteworthy, beginning with uncertainty due to a sudden heatwave in early September. Thanks to early harvesting, Pierre achieved balanced ripeness and avoided overripeness, producing wines with finesse, vibrant fruit, and excellent ageing potential. Both reds and whites are approachable young yet structured.
