BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO Fuligni 2016
A core of cherry and kirsch marks this vivid, linear red, packing strawberry, floral, sanguine, iron and tobacco notes into a slim frame. Balanced and structured, ends with a lingering impression of ripe fruit and savory elements. Best from 2024 through 2045.
MOREY SAINT DENIS 1er Cru Faconnières Domaine Stéphane Magnien 2022
Cask sample. Showing its sample nature a little. Not quite as fresh on the nose as hoped for. But the palate has loads of bright, direct and precise fruit. Cut with very good acidity. Dark-cherry/plum notes. Floral element adds extra interest. Should be very good once bottled and rested.
